1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. vegetable oil
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
5 c. flour, unsifted
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, oil, salt and vanilla. Sift together flour, soda and cream of tartar. Mix all together and roll into balls. Roll in sugar and "smoosh" down with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10 to 12 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 7 dozen.
