SIMPLE CHOCOLATE TRUFFLES | |
Easy-to-make candies with chocolate and cream cheese. Here's a recipe for lazy chocolate freaks. They're not as good as the ones you buy in good candy stores, but they're still yummy. 4 c. powdered sugar (yes, 4!) 8 oz. cream cheese (1 lg. pkg. or 3 sm. pkg. less a nibble) 1 tsp. vanilla extract 5 oz. unsweetened chocolate Assorted toppings (cocoa, powdered sugar) Mix the powdered sugar into the softened cream cheese a little (2/3 cup) at a time, making sure it is well blended after every addition. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and add it to the cream cheese mixture along with the vanilla. Mix well. Chill for a couple of hours. Roll mix into 1-inch balls, then roll them in a topping. Chill. NOTE: If you are adventurous, try substituting the liqueur of your choice for the vanilla. |
