ORANGE DATE BRAN BREAD 
1 med. orange
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 c. Nabisco shredded wheat & bran, finely rolled (about 1 c. crumbs)
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. soft butter
1 c. chopped dates

Grate 1 teaspoon orange rind; set aside. Remove remaining peel from orange. Chop fruit in blender or food processor adding enough water to make 1 cup. Set aside.

In medium bowl combine flour, cereal crumbs, baking powder and salt. In another medium bowl with electric mixer at medium speed, beat butter, sugar and eggs until blended. Stir in orange rind and orange. Add flour mixture and stir until well blended. Fold in chopped dates.

Pour into a 9 x 5 x 3 inch greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool 10 minutes on a rack; remove from pan; cool completely.
