CORN MEAL BRAN MUFFINS 
Makes 1 dozen: oven temperature 400 degrees: baking time: 20 minutes or less.

4 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. brown sugar
2 eggs, unbeaten
2/3 c. cold milk
2/3 c. bread flour, sifted
2/3 c. cornmeal, white or yellow, sifted
4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 c. bran, unsifted

Combine butter, sugars, eggs and milk. Add flour to sifted cornmeal, baking powder and salt and sift over unsifted bran and blend. Pour liquid mixture over flour mixture and stir just enough to dampen it. Bake in buttered muffin pan or in paper muffin pan liners. Serve hot.
