SWEET AND SOUR RED CABBAGE 
1 head red cabbage (approx. 2 lbs.)
1 tbsp. butter
1 tbsp. shortening
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. vinegar
1 to 2 tbsp. sugar
Pepper
Salt
Water

Cut cabbage in quarters. Soak, then shred. In large saucepot melt butter and shortening. Add cabbage and turn until all cabbage is covered with fat. Add flour and mix until all covered.

Add vinegar and enough water to almost cover cabbage. Add sugar, salt and pepper to taste. Cook until tender approximately 45 minutes.
