POLISH KLUSKI 
2 c. grated raw potatoes
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. flour
Chopped onion
Butter

Drain and squeeze the grated potatoes. Add egg, salt and flour. Form into small balls or drop by teaspoonful into a large kettle of boiling, salted water. Cover, bring to a boil and cook until they float. Transfer dumplings with a slotted spoon onto a hot platter. Saute onions with butter and pour over the dumplings.

My mom made these always with bits of salt pork (sort of like bacon bits) leaving that out during lent. We had what I believe was called Kapusta with it, cabbage and kidney beans in like vinegar. Trying to get my French Canadian husband to love this.

My mom use to make these things also but no one mentioned these bad boys, but I loved them! After boiling potatoes mixing with flour and eggs she would put them in a frying pan, sprinkle with sugar then remove when they got a little crispy. Not good for a diet but I loved them. I have looked to find a recipe for them and this is the closest I've gotten. Maybe I'm wrong but someday I will try it myself. Thanks everyone!
