SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 c. water
3/4 c. dairy sour cream
1/4 c. shortening
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
4 squares (1 oz. each) unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour pan (use one 13x9x2 inches, or two 9x1-1/2 inches, or three 8x1-1/2 inches).

Beat all ingredients on low speed, scraping bowl constantly, 30 seconds. Beat on high for 3 minutes, scraping often. Pour into pan (s).

Bake until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, oblong pan 40-45 minutes, layer pan for 30-35 minutes. Cool.

Frost with Sour Cream Chocolate Frosting.
