APPLE CAKE WITH CARAMEL SAUCE 
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
2 eggs, beaten
4 c. diced raw apples
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. baking soda

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and apples. Sift dry ingredients together. Add to first mixture. Bake at 350°F for 45 minutes in 9x12-inch greased and floured pan.

Caramel Sauce:

1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. cream
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugars and flour. Add cream and butter. Bring to a boil, 1-2 minutes. Serve hot or cold over cake.
