BRIANNA'S GARLICKY MEATBALLS | |
These work great in brown gravy or tomato gravy or even barbecue sauce thinned out for sandwiches! 3 lb. ground meat (hamburger, pork, veal) 1 large onion 1 head of garlic 2 eggs 1/2 cup milk 1 cup oats (quick-cooking) 1 cup Parmesan cheese (freshly grated) marjoram, basil or oregano (not a combo) 1 tsp. salt pepper, to taste seasoned bread crumbs Puree the onion, garlic cloves, salt, pepper, and herb (I like marjoram) in mini chopper or food processor. Empty into a mixing bowl and add the eggs, milk and mix. Add meat mix lightly. Add the oats and cheese and mix, adding bread crumbs as needed to desired consistency, trying not to over mix the meat. Form into any size balls you like and fry in olive oil, browning on all sides. Note: If making to freeze then add a small amount of water to the pan after browned and cover to finish cooking. Allow to cool to freeze in Ziploc bags... or add to a sauce to finish... Submitted by: Brianna |
