1 c. sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
3 tbsp. hot water
3 bananas, mashed
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (6 oz.) jar maraschino cherries, chopped
1 c. chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream sugar, butter and eggs in bowl until light and fluffy. Add mixture of soda and water. Mix well. Add bananas, flour and salt; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips, cherries and pecans. Pour into greased and floured 5 x 9 inch loaf pans. Bake 45 minutes or until done. Remove to wire rack to cool. Yield: 2 loaves.
