"NO NUTMEG" APPLE PIE 
Pastry for 9 inch 2 crust pie
1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
Dash of salt
1 tbsp. butter
5 c. thin sliced and pared apples

Heat oven to 425 degrees F.

Mix ingredients together with the exception of butter. Turn into pastry (we'll assume you put 1 pastry into pie pan). Dot with butter. Cover with top crust, flute edges to seal. Cut slits in top (2 or 3) . Bake until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble from slits in crust, 40-50 minutes.

Note: Cover edge of crust with 3 inch strip of aluminum foil to avoid burning crust, but remove for last 15 minutes of baking. Let cool and serve.

If desired you may add 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg to recipe but then it is no longer No Nutmeg but still good.
