OLD FASHIONED BREAD PUDDING | |
2 c. white bread 2 c. raisin bread 2 c. scalded milk 1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs, slightly beaten 1/4 tsp. salt 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. seedless raisins Tear bread into large pieces and place in a 1 1/2 quart oven proof baking dish. Blend in the scalded milk, sugar, eggs, salt, cinnamon, and raisins. Place the baking dish in a large pan (9x13 inch works well) and surround it with 1 inch of hot water. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. To test if it is done, insert a knife into the pudding 1 inch from the edge of the dish; if it comes out clean, it is done. Serve warm or cold with vanilla ice cream or Cool Whip. |
