BAKED FRENCH TOAST

1 sm. day old loaf French bread loaf
3 eggs
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. milk
1/2 c. flour
6 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. butter
1 c. fresh or frozen blueberries
1 c. sliced strawberries
Maple syrup

Grease a 13 x 9 baking dish. Diagonally cut bread into 1 inch slices and place in well greased dish. In medium bowl combine eggs, sugar and vanilla. Add milk. Pour over bread, turning to coat well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In AM: in small bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cut in butter. Turn bread slices over and scatter with blueberries and crumb mixture. Bake 40 minutes in 375 degree oven until golden. Cut into squares and top with strawberries. Serve with warmed maple syrup.

Cooking hint: Make sure pan is well greased, as bread will stick to pan. Do not use cooking sprays to grease.
