SPONGE CAKE 
2 eggs, yolks & whites beaten separately
1 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder sifted with the flour
Scant 1/2 c. boiling water

Stir all ingredients. Bake slowly. Check off into squares and stick half an English walnut on each square and you will have a very nice cake.
