KATE'S CHERRY COBBLER 
1 stick soft butter
1 c. sugar
1 lg. egg
1 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 (17 oz.) can pitted tart cherries

Beat butter and sugar. Add egg. Stir in flour and baking powder. Pour cherries and half the liquid into buttered baking dish. Cover with pastry mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream. Recipe easily doubled.)
