1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco oil
1 stick butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream together first 5 ingredients; add egg and vanilla. Cream well and add flour. Add 2 tablespoons milk to creamed mixture. Mix well. Chill mixture 20-30 minutes. Drop on cookie sheet (sprayed with Pam), 2 inches apart. Using a drinking glass with a drop of water on bottom dip in bowl of sugar and press a cookie real flat. Alternate dipping bottom of glass in sugar and pressing cookies. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Do not let brown too much.

This is a family favorite and a sure compliment from your friends. Freezes well.
