NUTTY POPCORN 
3 qts. popped corn
3 c. mixed nuts
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. light or dark corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda

In a large shallow roasting pan, stir together popcorn and nuts. Place in a 300 degree oven while preparing the coating. In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, stir together sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium heat, without stirring, cook for 5 minutes.

Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and baking soda. Pour syrup mixture over warm popcorn mixture, stirring to coat well. Bake in a 300 degree oven, stirring occasionally for 45 minutes. Remove from oven, turn out onto foil. Cool, break apart. Store in tightly covered container. Makes about 4 quarts.
