CHERRY-COCONUT BARS 
1 c. flour
1/2 c. butter
3 tbsp. powdered sugar
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. chopped nuts
1/2 c. coconut
1/3 c. chopped maraschino cherries

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix 1 cup flour, butter, and powdered sugar until smooth using hands. Spread evenly in ungreased 8 x 8 inch pan. Bake 25 minutes.

Stir rest of ingredients into eggs. Spread over top of baked pastry (no need to cool). Bake about 25 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars.

I double recipe for a 9 x 13 inch pan.
