FRIED SQUAW BREAD | |
3 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 3 tsp. baking powdertbsp. sugar 1 tbsp. melted butter 1 1/2 c. water Have enough shortening for a deep fryer or large iron skillet and enough sugar in a deep bowl to roll bread in after it cooks. Mix flour, salt, baking powder and sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add melted butter and water - mix and stir good. It will be sticky and thick. Drop by tablespoon in hot shortening. Cook 2-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and roll in sugar. May add some cinnamon to sugar for a change of taste. |
