CARAMEL PECAN BROWNIES 
2/3 c. vanilla caramels (12 caramels)
1/3 c. butter
2 tbsp. milk
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped pecans

In a 2 quart saucepan combine the caramels, butter and milk. Heat and stir over low heat just until caramels are melted. Remove the saucepan from the heat. Stir in the sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla; stir until well blended. Set aside.

In a mixing bowl combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to saucepan mixture, stirring until blended. Stir in pecans. Turn into a greased 9x9x2 inch baking pan.

Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack; cut into bars. Makes about 20 bars.
