APPLE - CABBAGE SALAD 
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 tsp. celery seed
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. dry mustard
3/4 c. water
3 tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. mayonnaise or salad dressing
6 c. shredded cabbage
1 apple, cored & chopped

1. Combine sugar, cornstarch, celery seed, salt and dry mustard in 2 cups glass measure. Gradually stir in water and vinegar until smooth.

2. Microwave, high, uncovered, 3-3 1/2 minutes or until mixture boils and thickens slightly, stirring once. Refrigerate until chilled, about 3 hours. Mix in mayonnaise.

3. Combine cabbage and apple in bowl. Pour dressing over cabbage; toss lightly to coat. Serve immediately or refrigerate several hours.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
