Have handy: Popsical sticks Cookie cutters

Children love using their own ideas. Using: split peas, beans, cereal, etc.

RECIPE:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. salt
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tbsp. Crisco oil
1 c. cold water
(Few drops oil of wintergreen or other flavors)

Put on stove and cook 3 minutes - until it looks like mashed potatoes. Knead like bread dough. (Store in airtight containers.)

When "ideas" are made, bake at 250 degrees. Interesting baked beads can be made by putting a toothpick through the center (kept there while baking).

Finished product can be acrylic painted after cooled from baking.
