SWEDISH BOWKNOTS 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla or almond extract

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg yolk and vanilla. Sift in flour and salt. Chill slightly. Put through cookie press. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for approximately 15 minutes. These cookies brown quickly. Do not let them get too brown.
