HOT APPLE CRISP 
4 c. peeled sliced tart apples
1/2 c. water or cider
3/4 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter

Put apples into deep baking dish, add water. Mix together the flour, sugar and cinnamon, then cut in the butter until well mixed. Spread over apples, pressing down lightly. Bake in 350 degree oven about 30 minutes or until apples are tender and the top lightly browned. Serve warm with light cream, whipped cream or a spoonful of vanilla ice cream.
