APPLE CRISP 
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
4 c. pared, sliced tart apples
1/4 c. water

TOPPING:

1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/3 c. brown sugar, packed
3 tbsp. softened butter

Mix sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over apples and mix lightly. Spread apples in a greased 8"x8"x2" pan, sprinkle water over apples. Blend flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar. Mix in butter to make crumbly mixture. Bake, uncovered at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until lightly browned and apples are tender.
