NEW TOLLHOUSE COOKIES 
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. white sugar
1 egg
6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. hot water
1 c. Quaker oats

Cream butter; add sugars gradually. Cream until light and fluffy. Add egg; beat well. Add hot water and vanilla; beat. Add sifted dry ingredients; beat well. Add chocolate chips and oats; blend thoroughly. Drop by teaspoon on UNGREASED baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes. Yields about 3 1/2 dozen.
