1 c. powdered sugar
1 c. granulated sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 c. plus 4 tbsp. flour

Mix oil, butter and sugars. Beat until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Add cream of tartar, salt, and soda. Mix in flour.

To make a cookie 4 inches in diameter, use almost a 1/4 cup dough for each cookie. Roll into ball and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Cover bottom of a glass with a damp cloth. Dip into granulated sugar and press cookies down to partially flatten. Bake 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Makes about 3 dozen. Good with orange icing.
