Cream:

1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar

Add:

2 eggs

Beat until fluffy.

Add:

2 tbsp. hot water
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 to 3 c. flour
1/2 lb. chocolate chips

Drop by spoon on greased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
