PORK CHOPS AND CABBAGE
5 slices thick bacon, chopped
4-6 boneless center cut pork chops
1 head cabbage, cored, thinly sliced
2 medium onions, sliced
2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, sliced
2 cans cream soup (one celery, one chicken)
1 soup can skim milk
1 soup can water
Salt and pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a skillet, cook bacon till just crisp, remove bacon and set aside. Salt and pepper chops well on both sides. Brown in bacon drippings on medium-high heat on both sides, just till brown.

In a large casserole dish, place cabbage, then onion, then apple. Salt and pepper the top of vegetables.

In a separate bowl, combine soups, milk and water. Pour over vegetables. Place browned chops on top. Put bacon on the top of everything.

Cover and bake one hour.

Love this dish! Delicious, but tastes healthy. The cabbage came out extra tasty. I modified slightly because of no bacon in the house, and by baking in a deep Corning Ware casserole dish. Excellent and will do this one again!
