OLD FASHIONED POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. Crisco
2 3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. brown sugar
8 eggs or 6 lg. eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter. Add sugar gradually and beat until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating vigorously after each addition. Sift flour; measure and sift again with salt and baking powder. Add sifted dry ingredients and flavoring. Beat mixture until it is light enough to float when a little is dropped in water. Pour into greased tube or loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
