RAISIN FILLED COOKIES | |
Stew 1 pound raisins in water and cover. Add 1 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla. Thicken with 2 tablespoons cornstarch. Set aside to cool. DOUGH: 2 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 2 eggs 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 3 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tbsp. vanilla 1 c. sour milk 1 tsp. salt Combine above ingredients. Use enough flour to thicken to a soft dough. Roll out with flour and cut out circles. Put 1 tablespoons or less of raisin filling between 2 circles and press edges together to seal. Bake at 375 degrees until lightly browned, 10 or 15 minutes. |
