GRANDPA CLAUSS'S CHILE | |
1/2 c. onion, chopped 2 tbsp. oil 1 lb. ground chuck 2 (1 lb.) cans kidney beans 2 (1 lb.) cans tomatoes 2 1/2 tsp. chile powder 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste 1 tsp. oregano 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/2 c. water 1 bay leaf 1 c. celery, chopped 1 c. green chilies, chopped 1/4 tsp. cumin 1/2 c. red wine Cook onions in oil. Add beef, brown. Add remaining ingredients, except beans. Simmer 1 1/2 hours. Drain and wash beans. Add to pot. Simmer additional 1/2 hour. |
