BOILED FRUIT CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 qt. water
1 lb. raisins
1 lb. currants

Cook for 15 minutes.

Add:

Let cool, then add: 1 tsp. each cinnamon, cloves, allspice 1 tbsp. baking soda in 4 1/2 c. flour

Pour in greased tins. At Christmas add fruit, nuts, etc. to make fruit cake.
