GERMAN BOILED RAISIN CAKE 
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
2 c. coffee
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 2 tbsp. hot water
1 c. chopped walnuts

Boil first 5 ingredients together in saucepan 1 minute; cool very thoroughly. Combine this with flour; mix thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients; mix well. Bake in greased 13 x 9 inch or bundt pan at 325 degrees for 40-50 minutes until done.
