PUMPKIN BREAD WITH CHOCOLATE
CHIPS
 
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. canned pumpkin
3/4 c. chocolate chips
3/4 c. chopped walnuts

GLAZE:

1/2 c. powdered sugar
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1/8 tsp. cinnamon
2 tbsp. milk or cream

Grease 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Combine first 7 ingredients. Cream butter; gradually add sugar. Cream well, blend in eggs. Beat well. Add dry ingredients alternately with pumpkin. Stir in chocolate chips and 1/2 cup walnuts. Pour in pan and sprinkle with remaining walnuts.

Bake 50-60 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool 5-10 minutes in pan. Remove from pan and drizzle with glaze.
