MOM'S BEST LASAGNA 
1 lb. hamburger
3 tbsp. salad oil
1 c. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, sliced
1 (8 oz.) pkg. lasagna noodles
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can tomato paste or puree
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 1/2 c. water
1 1/2 tsp. oregano

RICOTTA CHEESE:

Cream together in electric mixer:

1 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
Salt & pepper to taste

Brown meat in oil. Stir in chopped onion and garlic and sauces. Cook until almost dry; about 30 minutes. Pour of excess fat. add water and oregano. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer 1 hour. Cook noodles and ricotta cheese, when meat sauce is cooked; prepare lasagna in pan for oven. In a 9 x 13 inch pan; pour 1/2 cooked sauce; then a layer of noodles; layer Mozzarella cheese and last 1/2 of ricotta cheese. Now make a second layer in same order. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes, covered (I uncover last 5 to 10 minutes.) Take out of oven and let stand for 20 minutes before serving. It will be easier to slice. (Serves 8.)
