WHITE ICING 
1 1/2 c. Crisco
2 tbsp. Karo syrup, white
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. white vanilla
2 lbs. (2 1 lb boxes) powdered sugar
1/2 c. water

For chocolate icing: Add 1 cup cocoa and omit 1 cup powdered sugar.

Mix well Crisco, syrup, salt and vanilla. Sift in powdered sugar and add water. Beat for 15-20 minutes at high speed.
