PORCUPINE MEATBALLS IN CHILI
SAUCE

1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt
2 tsp. molasses or corn syrup
1/2 tsp. ground cumin seeds
1/2 tsp. oregano leaves
5 c. tomato juice
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 tsp. prepared mustard
1 c. quick cooking (UNCLE BEN'S®) rice
1/2 c. finely chopped onion
1/2 c. finely chopped peppers
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper
1 egg

To make sauce, combine chili powder, garlic salt, molasses, cumin, oregano, and tomato juice in large heavy pan.

In large bowl, combine ground beef, rice, onion, green pepper, celery, egg, mustard, salt and pepper. Blend well. Shape into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place meatballs in sauce. Bring liquid to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 20 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through. Turn meatballs in sauce once during cooking. Makes 4 servings. It is just as good without the pepper!
