PEANUT BUTTER CRINKLES 
1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Sugar, nuts, jam, jelly, chocolate kisses
1 c. peanut butter
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda

In bowl with mixer at medium speed beat first 6 ingredients until fluffy. At low speed beat in next 4 ingredients. Shape into 1 inch balls, roll in sugar, place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes or until browned. Immediately press nuts or candies onto cookies or press with thumb and fill with jam or jelly. Cool. Store in airtight container. Makes 6 dozen. Bake up to 1 week ahead.
