VERSATILE HEALTH BREAD 
1/4 c. softened butter
1/4 c. honey
2 eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 c. plain yogurt
1 c. all purpose flour
1 c. whole wheat flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. wheat germ

Cream together first four ingredients. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown.

Substitute for yogurt:

1 cup mashed bananas and 1 5/8 ounces poppy seeds

OR

1 cup grated carrots, 1/2 cup chopped dates, allspice & cloves

OR

1 cup applesauce, 1/2 cup bran buds, cinnamon and nutmeg

OR

1 cup shredded zucchini or 1/2 cup grated carrots

OR 1/2 cup cranberry sauce, 1/2 cup walnuts, 1 tablespoon orange rind, cinnamon and cloves

OR

1 cup raisins and 1 tablespoon caraway seeds.
