1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 egg
2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
48 milk chocolate kisses

Combine all ingredients except candy, in a large bowl. Mix at lowest speed until dough forms. Shape dough into balls, using a teaspoonful for each one. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. Top immediately with candy kisses. Press down firmly until cookies crack around edge.
