APPLE PIE IN A JAR 
4 1/2 c. sugar

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. salt

3 tbsp. lemon juice

1 c. cornstarch

1/2 tsp. nutmeg

10 c. water

Peel and slice apples to fill 7 quarts. Mix all ingredients except lemon juice and apples. Heat on medium until bubbling. Add lemon juice. Fill hot quart: Jars with sliced apples. Fill with hot syrup. Put on lids. Process in hot water bath 25 minutes. Use to make 2 crust pie. Bake at 400 degrees for 40-50 minutes.
