APPLE PIE IN A JAR 
28 c. sliced apples
4 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cornstarch
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. salt
10 c. water
3 tbsp. lemon juice

Peel and slice apples and pack tightly in quart jars. Combine sugar, cornstarch, spices, salt and water. Mix well. Cook until thickened and bubbly. Add lemon juice. Pour over apple and seal. Process in hot water for 20 minutes, makes 7 quarts.

When ready to use: Pour into unbaked pie crust and bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes.
