MARINATED MUSHROOMS 
(Can also be done with cut-up peppers)

1 pt. wine vinegar
3 lbs. mushrooms, washed & stems trimmed
1/4 c. salt
1/4 c. sugar
Pinch red pepper
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 pt. salad oil
1/2 tsp. white pepper
Pinch of oregano
1/4 c. Accent or less
1 tbsp. chopped onion
1 tbsp. chopped garlic

Using container big enough (I use a gallon glass covered jar), put the washed mushrooms in the container. Mix all other ingredients well and pour over the mushrooms. Store in a cool dark place for 3 days to marinate.
