CAKE DOUGHNUTS 
2 eggs
1 c. sugar
3 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. buttermilk
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. salt

Blend eggs, butter and milk in large bowl. Sift in all dry ingredients gradually.

Roll pastry out to desired thickness (approximately 1/4 - 1/2 inch). Cut with doughnut cutters. Tear out center. Drop into deep fryer. Turn over when browned. Remove when both sides are browned and drain on paper towels (or paper bags).

Use shortening in deep fryer.
