SEVEN LAYER SALAD (MAKES LARGE
SALAD)
 
1 1/2 heads lettuce, can use 1/2 spinach
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. chopped peppers
1/2 c. celery
8 slices, cooked, crumbled bacon
1 pkg. cooked peas
6 oz. shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Layer vegetables in large bowl with lettuce on bottom. Spread 2 cups mayonnaise over all, spreading to edge and with 2 tablespoon sugar.

Seal with foil or tightly sealed cover. Refrigerate 24 hours. Remove and garnish with tomatoes, ripe olives, sliced eggs. Before tossing sprinkle with 1/2 cup lemon juice.
