CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES | |
3/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. butter, softened 1/2 c. shortening 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1 egg 1 3/4 c. Pillsbury's Best all-purpose or unbleached flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 6 oz. pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 c. chopped nuts or shelled sunflower seeds, if desired Heat oven to 375 degrees. In bowl, beat brown sugar, sugar, butter and shortening until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg; blend well. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt; mix well. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. 4 dozen cookies. |
