CHERRY LOVE BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. powdered sugar

FILLING:

2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. crushed walnuts
1 c. sugar
1 (4 oz.) bottle maraschino, diced cherries, including juice
3/4 c. coconut
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. flour
Pinch of salt

Soften butter, add to flour and powdered sugar to make a soft pastry. Spread thin with fingers in 9 inch square pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Set aside to cool while mixing together remaining ingredients. Put this mixture on top of the baked, cooled pastry. Return to oven and bake until topping is golden brown. Make powdered sugar icing and spread on bars while still warm.
