BEATEN BUTTERMILK BISCUITS 
2 1/2 c. unsifted Nunn-Better flour
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
5 tbsp. oil

Put dry ingredients into mixing bowl and stir lightly with fork to mix. Add buttermilk and oil. Mix thoroughly with fork. Turn out onto floured pastry cloth; knead until both sides of dough are floured and smooth. Pat until dough is a half inch thick. Cut with biscuit cutter. Put biscuits onto greased baking sheet. Brush tops with milk or melted butter. Bake at 450 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Makes about 10 biscuits.
