1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 c. (2 med.) finely chopped, peeled apples
1/2 c. dairy sour cream
3/4 c. applesauce
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
3 eggs

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour two 8 or 9 inch round cake pans. In large bowl combine all cake ingredients at low speed until moistened. Beat 2 minutes at highest speed. Spoon batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes, or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes. Remove from pans. Cool completely.

FROSTING:

1 can vanilla ready to spread frosting
1 tsp. cinnamon

In small bowl, stir frosting and cinnamon until well blended. Spread a small amount (about 1/3 cup) between cake layers. Frost sides and top with remaining frosting. Makes 12 servings.
